About

Throughout March 2027, Le Baiser Salé hosts a renowned jazz residency featuring pianist Mario Canonge and double bassist Michel Zenino. Celebrating over twenty years of musical partnership, the duo presents an intense, stripped-back performance that focuses on precision and mutual listening. By reimagining jazz standards from artists like Thelonious Monk and Ornette Coleman, the musicians infuse their own Creole and Latin influences into every set. These sessions take place every Wednesday from 19:00 to 21:00 in the 1st arrondissement. Tickets are available online starting at 15 EUR for Paris Jazz Club members, or 20 EUR for standard web bookings.

After more than two decades of musical partnership, Mario Canonge and Michel Zenino relaunch their famous residency at Le Baiser Salé, a ritual awaited every Wednesday by a loyal and passionate audience. Since 2006, this unique piano-double bass duo has established a format as demanding as it is intense, with no artifice or compromise, where every note and every silence counts. The absence of drums, far from being a constraint, becomes a playground where concentration, mutual listening, and sensitivity reach their peak. On stage, Canonge, a key figure in Caribbean jazz, and Zenino, a double bassist with formidable precision, inventively revisit the great jazz standards—from Thelonious Monk to Ornette Coleman—while infusing them with their Creole and Latin roots and their love for musical fusion. This residency, a true laboratory for improvisation, blends tradition and modernity in a rare alchemy nurtured by years of uninterrupted musical dialogue.

A must-attend event for lovers of living, free, and embodied jazz.
