About

Pianist Mario Canonge and double bassist Michel Zenino return to Le Baiser Salé every Wednesday in May 2027. This iconic duo presents a stripped-back jazz experience, showcasing the chemistry developed over two decades of musical partnership. By performing without a drummer, they create an intense atmosphere where every note and silence holds deep significance. From 19:00 to 21:00, the pair explores a repertoire blending jazz standards with Caribbean and Latin influences. Located in Paris's 1st arrondissement, these performances offer various ticket options, ranging from web-discounted rates to on-the-door pricing, making it a perfect evening for devoted jazz enthusiasts.

After more than two decades of musical complicity, Mario Canonge and Michel Zenino are relaunching their famous residency at Le Baiser Salé, like a ritual expected every Wednesday by a loyal and passionate audience. Since 2006, this unique piano-double bass duo has established a format as demanding as it is intense, without artifice or compromise, where every note and every silence counts. The absence of drums, far from being a constraint, becomes a playground where concentration, mutual listening, and sensitivity reach their peak. On stage, Canonge, a key figure in Caribbean jazz, and Zenino, a double bassist with formidable phrasing precision, inventively revisit the great jazz standards—from Thelonious Monk to Ornette Coleman—while infusing them with their Creole and Latin roots and their love for cultural blending. This residency, a true improvisation laboratory, blends tradition and modernity in a rare form of alchemy, nourished by years of uninterrupted musical dialogue.

An unmissable event for fans of living, free, and embodied jazz.
