About

Théâtre Silvia Monfort presents a new adaptation of Marguerite Duras's L'Amante anglaise, directed by Émilie Charriot. The play delves into the mysterious murder of a cousin by Claire Lannes, unfolding through a tense, fragmented interrogation that exposes the emotional rifts of a detached couple. Featuring performances by Dominique Reymond, Nicolas Bouchaud, and Laurent Poitrenaux, this production explores the darkest corners of human nature. Running from May 12 to May 22, 2027, the performance is a ticketed event with prices ranging from 5€ to 28€. Join us in the 15th arrondissement to experience this compelling theatrical investigation.

One night, Claire Lannes murders her deaf and mute cousin. She confesses, but remains unable to explain her actions. From this enigma, the play moves into a murky zone where all logic slips away. An interrogator questions the husband, then the murderess in turn. From these exchanges emerges a fragmented, tense dialogue, revealing the flaws of a couple frozen in indifference. Here, the investigation solves nothing. It opens up, digs, and explores what resists language.

Carried by three exceptional performers – Dominique Reymond, Nicolas Bouchaud, Laurent Poitrenaux – the show gives life to a gripping work that questions the dark side within each of us.

« Émilie Charriot is fearless. This Franco-Swiss director brings together three eminent actors on stage who flourish in a formidable (but daunting) play. » Le Monde
« Guided with a steady hand by director Émilie Charriot, the three actors are fascinating. » Le Canard enchaîné
