PROGRAM:

Saturday, October 3 | 11 a.m.

The Mighty Red, Louise Erdrich, Albin Michel

Throughout her body of work, Louise Erdrich has established her unique perspective and poetic universe as one of the richest talents in American literature. In this new novel, we find the narrative originality, luminous prose, and emotional strength of a body of work that never ceases to renew itself and surprise. Charged with inventorying a house in New Hampshire, Faye Travers notices a very singular ritual drum among a stunning collection of 19th-century Native American objects. Moved and troubled by this instrument, she starts to imagine it endowed with a strange power: that of beating to the rhythm of human pain, as if echoing the violent romantic passion whose memory it perpetuates...
