Choreographer Rachid Ouramdane and the Chaillot Company bring the performance Corps extrêmes to the Théâtre de la Ville - Sarah Bernhardt from July 6 to July 12, 2027. Suitable for audiences aged 8 and up, this 1-hour show explores the human fascination with flight and suspension by blending contemporary dance with extreme sports. Eight acrobats perform alongside a professional climber and a highliner, utilizing a massive climbing wall on stage to challenge gravity. This artistic adventure combines breathtaking visual projections with personal testimonials, offering a unique perspective on human limits and the pursuit of freedom in a spectacular stage environment.
When Rachid Ouramdane created Extreme Bodies in 2021, the choreographer wanted to "focus on the fascination exerted by the notions of flight, the state of weightlessness, suspension, gliding...". Alongside him, he brings together an atypical community in love with freedom, made up of two iconic practitioners of extreme sports – a highliner and a climber – and eight acrobats.
Together, they create a performance full of relief and lightness, moving between sky and earth, with an imposing climbing wall at the back of the stage serving as the main support point. Crossed at a height by a long wire, the stage sometimes turns into a vast screen projecting – literally dizzying – images of highliner Nathan Paulin and climber Nina Caprez in action, in magnificent natural landscapes. Also woven in, as voice-overs, are the testimonies of these two exceptional athletes as well as that of acrobat Airelle Caen, each delivering a personal account of their practice.
This spectacular human and artistic adventure, recounting extraordinary experiences, has since toured the world, meeting an ever more enthusiastic audience.
