About

The Théâtre du Châtelet presents Dys, a musical that reimagines learning disabilities through the eyes of a young hero who brings their community together. Suitable for ages 6 and up, this performance blends theater, music, and dance to explore inclusion with humor and warmth. Featuring a youth choir, the show turns personal challenges into a vibrant, dreamlike adventure. The event is free of charge, with specific accessibility provisions in place for blind or visually impaired audience members. It is a unique opportunity to witness an inspiring story of resilience and unity.

Dyscalculia, dyslexia, dysorthographia, dysphasia, dyspraxia… From the Greek, dys-, the prefix evokes both anomaly and disorder.

Always associated with scholarly terms, this prefix also implies pain and difficulty. The musical Dys takes a reverse approach, turning the Dys child into a true hero, capable of rallying not only their family around them, but also their teacher and all their friends! Conceived as a tale, blending theater, music, and dance, Dys borrows the art of sensitivity and sincerity from the Broadway musical to better question the issues of inclusion and the fight against all forms of discrimination. And while the subject is serious, the musical is no less filled with humor, tenderness, and joy.

From home to school and through the streets, we follow this adventure in a dreamlike world where the main protagonists are accompanied by a youth choir that sings and dances.
