About

Step into a world of eccentric machinery with the film-performance Drôles d'inventions at the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé. Running from October 2026 to January 2027, this event invites children aged 6 and up to explore how early cinema drew inspiration from technological marvels to create hilarious gags. Led by a mad scientist played by Chloé Cavillier, the performance features live musical accompaniment from pianists trained at the CNSMDP. This one-hour experience, located in Paris's 13th arrondissement, is fully wheelchair accessible, providing a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy the magic of early film together.

These real or imagined discoveries revolutionized the daily lives of their users, made them dream, and sometimes sowed chaos. From the very beginning, they became a source of inspiration for cinema, giving free rein to the most unusual situations and the most amusing gags.

In the form of a cine-show, a mad scientist presents his strange machines and awakens the magic of the origins of cinema, surrounded by the talents of an improvising pianist and instruments with strange and mysterious resonances.

  • Show conceived and hosted by Chloé Cavillier.

The screenings are accompanied by pianists from Jean-François Zygel's improvisation class (CNSMDP).
