About
The Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé welcomes children aged 8 and up to explore the art of editing through the Ciné puzzle workshop. From October 3, 2026, to January 30, 2027, families will learn to build narratives by assembling images and sounds using intuitive Mash’Up tables. No technical expertise is required, as the focus remains on creative experimentation. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Participants must book their tickets in advance for this unique hands-on experience, which concludes with a screening of the children’s creations in the Charles Pathé hall, complete with live piano accompaniment.
It is through an interactive assembly game between images that a film is constructed and characters meet. A single change is enough to shake up the narrative and the film becomes something else.
The short films, created by the children during the workshop using the mash up table*, will then be screened on the big screen in the Charles Pathé room and set to music by a pianist.
*Mash up Table “A digital editing table that allows for the editing of images and sounds from various sources, which are copied, pasted, cut, transformed, mixed, assembled… to create a new work. No technique to learn: simply place the images on the Mash’Up table and let your hands guide your creativity.”
All sessions are accompanied by pianists from Jean-François Zygel’s improvisation class (National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris).
The workshops are designed to be done as a family. Parents accompany and participate in the workshops. Ages 8 and up - Duration: 1h30/1h45
When purchasing tickets, a ticket must be purchased for each member of the group.
- Dates:
- Saturday, October 10 at 10 a.m.
- Saturday, November 28 at 10 a.m.
- Saturday, January 16 at 10 a.m.
Our take on this event
Discover how a film comes to life at the Ciné puzzle workshop, held at the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé. Designed for families, this session invites children aged 8 and older to use digital Mash’Up tables to manipulate visual and audio sources. By rearranging clips, you can build new stories and explore the impact of editing on film narrative. The workshop lasts between 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes, with parents encouraged to participate alongside their children.
Following the creative process, the short films produced during the session are screened on the big screen in the Charles Pathé hall. Each screening is brought to life by a pianist from Jean-François Zygel’s improvisation class at the CNSMDP. Sessions are scheduled for Saturdays, October 10, November 28, and January 16 at 10:00.
Tickets must be purchased for every member of the group, available online or on-site. The standard ticket price is 8 €. Family packages are available at 28 € for 4 people (maximum 2 adults) and 32 € for 5 people (maximum 2 adults). For groups larger than 5, each additional entry costs 4 €.
