Experience the vibrant energy of funk jam sessions at 38Riv in the 4th arrondissement, hosted by bassist Pierre Gibbe. Alongside keyboardist François Faure and drummer Maxime Aignon, Gibbe explores a hybrid sound rooted in soul and hip-hop within an atmospheric 12th-century vaulted cellar. Held every Tuesday from October 13, 2026, to January 26, 2027, these sessions are open to adults aged 18 and over. Pierre Gibbe
Pierre Gibbe is a bassist nourished by funk, soul, and hip-hop. Trained in jazz at the Lyon CNR, he first made his mark with the group Uptake, winners of the Jazz à Vienne springboard competition. Based in Paris since 2017, he joined the collective La Petite Écurie and gradually established himself on the Parisian scene. His playing, both groovy and eclectic, has led him to collaborate with artists as varied as Lyricson, Steve Waring, Emma Peters, and Jewel Usain. He has also shared the stage with DeLaSoul, Goldlink, and Barry Moore, exploring a hybrid aesthetic between urban music and contemporary jazz.
