This unique experience is open to visitors aged 12 and over, with a flat entrance fee of 29.00 €. Booking in advance is required to secure your place in these usually hidden quarters.
For nearly four centuries, the Mobilier national has had the primary mission of furnishing the most important venues of the Republic, such as the Élysée Palace, ministries, and embassies. It indeed possesses a magnificent collection of furniture and textile objects, spanning various periods and styles, which now totals more than 130,000 pieces.
You will visit several storage areas usually closed to the public. You will start with the most imposing, the Perret reserve. In a typical storage atmosphere, amidst shelves and protective covers, you will admire prestigious furniture that has been used in the highest seats of power; among these objects, you will notably see the desks of several Presidents of the Republic (Messrs. Auriol, D'Estaing, Mitterrand...).
Your tour will end at the active reserve where raw materials are kept, including collection fabrics, trimmings, velvets, and active textiles.
