Anti-magic, Juan Bescos

Juan Bescós, a director graduating from the École du TnS, imagines a deviant show (in the best sense of the term), somewhere between an amateur horror film, a magic manual, and an act of love(s). From a teenager's bedroom, he celebrates the promise of a world delivered from domination, authority, and abuse of power.

About

What enigmatic and secret zone could survive our adolescence? How can we keep access to it? Juan Bescós opts for what he calls "anti-magic": an efficacy of the invisible that is at once a collective utopia, the dream of vulnerable drama queen heroines, and a way to defy the fundamental laws of existence. In four parts, the play unfolds in the room of a sad teenager who wants to transform the private space of domestication into a collective space of experimentation. Anti-Magie offers a joyful and deviant fantasy, drawing as much from death metal as from the Platonic allegory of the cave, to open dizzying portals.
