About

The narrator, the Dyke Fairy, a good queer fairy inspired by Delphine Seyrig’s Lilac Fairy, guides the narrative and accompanies Anna’s path. Anna meets Violette, and they experience a love story for three years. But the illness of Anna’s father gradually invades her life, weakening her bond with Violette. Anna breaks up. Maya, her best friend, comes to help her leave their shared apartment. Anna decides to return to her hometown, by the sea, to her parents’ house, for a time... Upon her arrival, Anna feels crushed by the family home: her sick, silent father, and her distraught mother. She escapes to the sea, in search of the silent world. Under the water, she begins a poetic journey and discovers The Villa of Broken Dykes.

Le Goût du bleu invites the audience into the life of Anna, who faces a difficult transition after ending her three-year relationship with Violette. As her father’s health declines, Anna moves back to her coastal hometown, feeling overwhelmed by her family situation. Seeking escape, she turns toward the sea, where she embarks on a metaphorical journey beneath the waves, discovering the unique world of La villa des gouines brisées. The narrative is framed by the guidance of the Fée des gouines, an iconic queer figure.

Directed by Angèle Garnier, the play features performances by Léa Delmart, Marie-Lou Nessi, Ema Haznadar, Anysia Mabe, and Anne-Laure Tondu. The artistic vision is supported by stage design from Marie-Lou Nessi and Juliette Baigne, lighting by Macha Menu, and choreography by Candice Levy-Lafaye. The immersive experience is rounded out by an original score composed by Solène Moulin and Manon Leguay, with sound design by Marie Favier and voice-over work by Jérôme Robart.
