About
On the occasion of the bicentenary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France, the Mexican publishing house Trilce, the Embassy of Mexico in France, and the City of Paris invite you to discover the exhibition "Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Life," from October 28 to December 15, on the gates of the main entrance to the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Place Roger-Madec (formerly Place Armand-Carrel), opposite the 19th arrondissement town hall.

Born from the encounter between pre-Hispanic worldviews and the religious practices introduced during the colonial period, it has become a colorful celebration that varies according to region and community around November 2.
Inspired by the eponymous book, the exhibition offers a journey through this diversity: crafts, altars, offerings, flowers, gastronomy, music, dances, costumes, masks, parades, and processions testify to the multiple ways of welcoming and celebrating the deceased.
Through a selection of images, objects, and testimonies, the exhibition highlights the richness of this living heritage. Much more than a celebration of death, the Día de Muertos celebrates life, memory, and the bonds that unite the living with those who preceded them.
