Workshop "The ease of the storyteller and the clownish dimensions of storytelling" by Ralph Nataf
Cultivate the ease of our storytelling voice and personal imagination, always at the service of the story being told.
Age d'Or de France (Paris 11th)
About
Ease provides:
– lightness, which makes listening easy and allows for depth without being heavy;
– adaptability, which allows for facing the unexpected and taking risks with confidence;
a path to access the power of stories without tension.
Clownish dimensions allow one to live certain characters and their moods intensely, all while remaining a storyteller, without the risk of "sliding into theater," within the right degree of excess for the situations.
Workshop outline:
After a physical and vocal warm-up, we will explore:
– some practices that foster ease and centering;
– individual imagination, through various perspectives that will favor multiple expressions of the same story passage.
We will rely on:
– each other, to step out of our habits and limits, to explore the fertile and unexpected lands of our personal fantasies;
– the specifics of each story, to open up possibilities that put our expressiveness at the service of the story's development.
Program includes:
– body, postures, gestures…;
– voice;
– gazes, expressions…
Our take on this event
Forget rigid storytelling and let your natural charisma take center stage in this immersive workshop. By blending physical presence with clowning techniques, you will learn to hold an audience's attention while bringing every narrative to life with pure, unfiltered joy.
Ralph Nataf hosts a workshop focused on the art of storytelling, blending natural poise with clowning techniques. Designed for adults 18 and over, this four-day program helps participants enhance their stage presence, vocal range, and physical expression while discovering their own creative flair. Attendees will learn to balance depth and lightness to deliver stories with impact and authenticity. Held at the Age d'Or de France in the 11th arrondissement, the venue is fully wheelchair accessible, providing a comfortable environment for artistic growth throughout the session dates.
This workshop led by Ralph Nataf explores the mechanics of storytelling through two main lenses: ease, which fosters flexibility and adaptability, and clowning, which adds emotional depth to character work without losing the narrative focus. Over the course of four Mondays between November 2 and December 14, 2026, students will meet from 10:00 to 17:00 to refine their craft. Each day begins with physical and vocal warm-ups, followed by practical exploration of posture, gesture, and expression.
Participants are encouraged to leverage the collective energy of the group to step outside their usual habits and uncover new creative pathways. By examining the specificities of different tales, you will learn to harness your expressive potential to develop stories more effectively. The sessions take place at the Age d'Or de France, 62 Rue Amelot, 75011 Paris, a location that is wheelchair accessible.
The full price for the four-day training is 400 €, with a reduced rate available at 320 €. Registration is open to those 18 years and older.
