STEREO MC'S
Stereo MC's formed in the mid-80s, inspired by electronic music and early hip-hop. The group pressed their first 12-inch vinyl and launched an independent label called G Street Records, which produced many British and American artists. Shortly after, they signed with Island/4th and Broadway Records, released their first album, and toured extensively, building a reputation through multiple tours and festivals. Their third album, "Connected", released in 1992, was a worldwide success and the title track became a classic.
Some time later, in 2015, tired of the major record label bubble and driven by their love of dance music, they decided to return to their roots and launch a new label project: this is how the "Connected" label was born, initially as a way for them to release their own music, but also to produce music for other artists, covering afro house, deep house, and techno, as well as all variations of these genres.
While continuing to tour as a live band and releasing numerous albums (including collaborations with Adam Port, Anja Schneider, Re. You, Yotam Avni, and Terranova, among others), Rob Birch and Nick Hallam also continue to cultivate their passion for DJing, which is an essential element of the Connected label.
