About

The Théâtre Mandapa hosts Le Petit Mish-Mash on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 20:00 to 22:00. This trio brings together Roma accordionist Adrian Iordan, Moldovan cymbalom player Mihai Trestian, and klezmer clarinetist Marine Goldwaser to explore Yiddish, Roma, Romanian, and Moldovan musical traditions. By blending high-energy Romanian dances with transformed klezmer melodies, the musicians offer a fresh, imaginative take on ancestral repertoires. This performance in the 13th arrondissement is a ticketed event with prices ranging from 10 to 20 euros. It is an invitation to experience a unique cross-cultural dialogue through exceptional musicianship.

Le Petit Mish-Mash was born from the meeting between the Gypsy accordionist Adrian Iordan, from Bucharest, the cimbalom player Mihai Trestian, a concert performer trained at the Chisinau Conservatory (Moldova), and the clarinetist/flutist Marine Goldwaser, a musician from the new klezmer scene. Brought together by klezmer and Gypsy music, the three musicians create a dialogue between their musical cultures to undertake an original interpretation of these ancestral repertoires, developing an approach where the search for authenticity combines with the resources of the imagination.

Romanian dances with furious rhythms respond to transfigured ancient klezmer melodies; from this mirroring emerges an invitation to a musical journey through revisited soundscapes.

Our take on this event

Le Petit Mish-Mash emerges from a collaboration between three distinct musicians: Bucharest-born accordionist Adrian Iordan, Chisinau-trained concertist and cymbalom player Mihai Trestian, and klezmer performer Marine Goldwaser. Their project focuses on the intersection of Yiddish, Roma, Romanian, and Moldovan music, aiming to bridge these cultural traditions through a contemporary and imaginative lens.

The concert takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 20:00 to 22:00 at the Théâtre Mandapa in Paris's 13th arrondissement. During the performance, intense Romanian dance rhythms are set against reinterpreted klezmer melodies. This mirror-like structure invites the audience on a journey through reinvented soundscapes where traditional authenticity meets creative innovation.

Tickets for the event are available, with prices set between 10 and 20 euros. Attendees are encouraged to book in advance to enjoy this intimate exploration of Eastern European musical heritage.
