; Credits: Miyagi Atelier SelectionNestled in the northeast of Japan, along the Pacific coast and bordered by the Zao mountains, the Miyagi prefecture is home to an exceptional artisanal heritage.
Generation after generation, its inhabitants have shaped unique techniques, drawn from their natural environment and passed down with care.
Lacquerware pieces adorned with fine layers of silver, tableware sculpted from stone, baskets woven from wild vines, or objects in hand-hammered copper… each creation tells the story of artisans who elevate local resources through meticulous work.
A warmth and authenticity unique to manual labor, difficult to perceive in mass-produced products, are found in each of these pieces.
We are organizing the "Miyagi Atelier Selection" exhibition to introduce Miyagi's craftsmanship to the general French public.
Come discover up close the richness and diversity of the artisanal know-how developing in the rural regions of Japan.
