About
"The Story of Madeleine Moineau" is a poetic kamishibai tale, inspired by the worlds of Hayao Miyazaki, Georges Méliès, and Jules Verne. We meet Madeleine, a grieving young girl who, after losing her voice, heals her sorrow by immersing herself in nature and creation. Her path leads us to meet a slightly eccentric inventor, obsessed with flying machines, and a sweet, tender, yet slightly witchy godmother... Through this fable, the Japanese paper theater steps out of its frame, unfolds, and takes us on a journey to discover extraordinary characters who are as misunderstood as they are brilliant creators. A theatrical and visual tribute to secret gardens, as well as to shared creation and the tender fantasy that we carry within us.
