About

ICI invites you to its Soirées, nocturnal meetings in the heart of the exhibition spaces where visual arts engage in dialogue with other disciplines. Designed with authors, musicians, and a performer, these intimate and warm evenings invite you to explore an artistic practice or a theme echoing the works in the exhibition Le bal des Ogresses.

For this Soirée, flutist Naïssam Jalal presents Healing Rituals, an album in which she composes and performs eight imaginary healing rituals. Inspired by ancestral, often animist traditions, these rituals offer a refuge for suffering bodies and minds through silence, trance, and beauty.

A prolific flutist, singer, and composer, French of Syrian origin, Naïssam Jalal weaves links between musical cultures and aesthetic fields, exploring the fundamental relationship between music, nature, and spirituality. Winner of the 2019 Victoires du Jazz, she was named Flutist of the Year in 2026 by the American magazine DownBeat.

She is accompanied by Karsten Hochapfel, a German cellist and guitarist who moves between improvised music, jazz, traditional, and classical music. He collaborates notably with Louise Jallu and the trio Le Cri du Caire, and develops his own projects, including "La Cosmologie de la Poire" and "L'Archetypal Syndicate".

The evening continues until 10:00 PM for a (re)discovery of the exhibition at night.
