About

Known for her uncompromising artistic independence and political voice, her legacy is explored by the Lila Tamazit Trio during this one-hour performance. From the success of Melocoton to her later works, the ensemble highlights why Magny remains a hidden gem of French music. This event is free of charge and open to attendees aged 18 and over. Please note that booking is required, with reservations opening on October 27.
Colette Magny (1926-1997) is the best-kept secret of French music.
A singer-songwriter, she left an important position to start her music career at 36. After the success of "Melocoton", the music industry tried to exploit her as a white blues singer. That was to underestimate Colette Magny and her determination not to be boxed into a single style. Her freedom of tone and political views eventually distanced her from radio and television.
The Lila Tamazit Trio pays tribute to her work, which resonates uniquely in light of current events.
Featuring Lila Tamazit on vocals (voice of Arte, TSF Jazz, Nova...), Vincent Viala on piano (Orléans Jazz Scene), and David Georgelet on drums and percussion (international stages).
By reservation, starting October 27.
Our take on this event
Experience a deep dive into the repertoire of Colette Magny, a performer who left a prominent career at 36 to pursue music on her own terms. Despite early industry attempts to categorize her as a blues singer, Magny remained fiercely committed to her creative freedom and social convictions, which often kept her away from mainstream media. Today, the Lila Tamazit Trio brings her unique body of work back to the stage.
The performance features Lila Tamazit on vocals, Vincent Viala on piano, and David Georgelet on drums and percussion. The concert takes place on November 27, 2026, from 19:00 to 20:00. This tribute event is restricted to adults aged 18 and older. As capacity is limited, please ensure you complete your reservation starting from October 27.
