Mairie Maïko is a folk-rock duo, experimental, soft and bold, composed of the two musicians
Delphine Ciampi and Anne Gouverneur.
Delphine Ciampi was born to a Japanese mother, the actress Keiko Kishi, and a French-Italian father, the filmmaker Yves Ciampi. A composer, guitarist, and bassist, she pursues a career between France, the US, and Japan as part of various rock groups and musical projects.
Anne Gouverneur is a Parisian musician, violinist, singer, guitarist, and composer based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Trained at the classical conservatory in violin and choral singing, she has collaborated for twenty years with numerous artists on the French and Mexican music scenes.
The two musicians met during Claire Diterzi's "Tableau de Chasse" tour in 2007, completing hundreds of concerts and thus creating a deep bond. With Marie Maïko, they have developed an open musical project that explores a shared inner world, which they modulate according to their inspirations.
Their voices intertwine. Delphine's electric guitar and Anne's violin blend to create a sound material that breaks free. This unique depth, refined by their two voices in unison, has found the tone of Marie Maïko even if their music remains largely instrumental.
They are described today as cinematic folk-rock.
