About
The Théâtre Michel presents the Parisian debut of Les Rochambelles, a historical play celebrating the thirty female volunteer ambulance drivers who served during the Liberation of France. Written by Valérie Demay, granddaughter of one of these veterans, the production brings to light the bravery of these women who defied the conventions of World War II. Suitable for audiences aged 12 and up, the show offers a powerful exploration of a neglected chapter of history. Performances take place in the 8th arrondissement through December 27, 2026. This is a unique opportunity to witness the stories of these forgotten heroes on stage.
A TRUE STORY. A FORGOTTEN EPIC.The Rochambelles landed in Normandy even before the French army opened its doors to women. Thirty volunteers. Thirty women committed to the heart of the Second World War. Ambulance drivers who went through hell to participate in the Liberation of France, disregarding both danger and the conventions of their time. With this play, Valérie Demay, author and granddaughter of a Rochambelle, gives a voice and a face back to these shadow fighters. She recounts their courage and commitment, bringing these women of war—essential but too often relegated to the background of history—back into the spotlight.
At THÉÂTRE MICHEL: Wednesday to Saturday at 7:00 PM; Sunday at 3:30 PM
