The Avicennian theory of prophecy is a key element of the Kitāb al-Shifāʾ. This presentation examines its reception by the contemporary Pakistani thinker Fazlur Rahman (1919-1988), who uses it to make the phenomenon of revelation intelligible to modern rationality.
