The Colette Vivier library hosts an exhibition dedicated to Anna Maria Sibylla Merian, a 17th-century German naturalist and artist. From September 15 to October 31, 2026, visitors can admire her detailed botanical and insect illustrations, which significantly advanced the scientific understanding of butterfly metamorphosis. Part of the Autumn of Science in Libraries program, this showcase celebrates the intersection of artistic precision and biological study. The event is free and open to everyone. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and provides accommodations suitable for visitors with cognitive disabilities.

Anna Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717), German artist and naturalist, is distinguished by her drawings of plants and insects. Through her highly detailed observations and reproductions, she performed significant scientific work, particularly on the metamorphosis of butterflies.

Coloring pages based on her works will be available upon request for older children and adults.
