Organized by the City Hall of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, with the support of the 17th district Sports Movement Office and the La Salésienne club, the race appeals both to runners looking for a personal record and to those who have come simply to enjoy a convivial moment. And to blow out these 40 candles as it should be, the race welcomes a new ambassador who is not short of breath... or wit.
Known for his show Hyperactif, performed every Friday at the Théâtre du Marais in Paris, his tours throughout France, and his videos followed by thousands of internet users on social media, Hugues Lavigne divides his time between theater stages and starting lines. Originally from Toulouse, he shared his passion between rugby and running for a long time before taking the latter much more seriously upon his arrival in Paris in 2018. His first official 10k? A promising 42 min 36 s at only 18 years old. Since then, Hugues has discovered a soft spot for long distances and now has three marathons under his belt. With a sense of consistency that would almost make Swiss watchmakers dream: 4h15, 4h14, and 4h16.
His secret? He systematically cracks at the 35th kilometer. At least he is consistent. At one meter eighty-eight and 90 kilos, he likes to remind people that he does not necessarily fit the classic image of a long-distance runner. But as he says himself, appearances sometimes run slower than legs.
For this 40th edition, Hugues Lavigne officially becomes the ambassador of the Onatera 10k Paris 17. A collaboration that makes perfect sense since the 17th arrondissement occupies a special place in his personal history: it is here that he landed upon his arrival in Paris.
