Our take on this event

Prepare for a spirited dialogue as modern and baroque violins collide, perfectly complemented by the fluid motion of period dance. This masterclass approach brings the technical brilliance of Bach to life in an intimate, revelatory setting.

On Saturday, November 21, 2026, the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris hosts a special day dedicated to the intersection of music and dance. From 10:00 to 18:00, visitors are invited to the Marcel Landowski Auditorium for an immersive study of the modern violin, the baroque violin, and baroque dance. Led by experts Stéphanie Moraly, Benjamin Chénier, and Hubert Hazebrouck, this event provides a deep dive into the works of Bach. The day is entirely free to attend and open to anyone aged 12 and over, offering a unique opportunity to explore these technical and artistic traditions in the 8th arrondissement.

This event at the Conservatoire Ida Rubinstein focuses on the technical nuances and stylistic interpretations of Bach's music. Throughout the day, Stéphanie Moraly, Benjamin Chénier, and Hubert Hazebrouck guide attendees through a series of lectures and workshops. The program explores the evolution of the violin from its baroque origins to its modern form, while highlighting the historical relationship between string music and baroque dance.

The sessions run continuously from 10:00 to 18:00, providing ample time for both theoretical presentations and practical demonstrations. By bringing together specialists in music and movement, the day fosters a comprehensive understanding of early music performance practices. Held in the Marcel Landowski Auditorium, the event is accessible to all individuals aged 12 and older. Attendance is free, allowing music students and enthusiasts alike to engage with the expertise of the guest speakers in an academic and professional setting.
