Exhibition "Witnesses to Climate Realities: Migration as Adaptation"

Produced by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the support of the City of Paris, a portion of the exhibition "Witnesses to Climate Realities: Migration as Adaptation" will be presented at the Arthur Rimbaud Library from September 29 to October 31.

Bibliothèque Arthur Rimbaud (Paris 4th)

About

Through a selection of photographs from its collection, the IOM offers a series of perspectives from different regions of the world. These images document the challenges faced by populations confronted with environmental upheavals and highlight migration as an adaptation strategy.

From droughts and floods in East Africa to hurricanes in the Caribbean, the shots bear witness to territories exposed to extreme climate shocks. They also account for more gradual phenomena, such as coastal erosion in Bangladesh or particularly harsh winters in Mongolia, which durably weaken living conditions and livelihoods.

By showcasing daily life marked by precariousness, food insecurity, and environmental degradation, these photographs also bear witness to the communities' ability to adapt in the face of these upheavals.

Join us from September 29 to October 31 at the Arthur Rimbaud Library to discover this exhibition.

Free entry during library opening hours. Open to all.
