Lucie Antunes, Mathilde Monnier - Silence
Born from the encounter between musician Lucie Antunes and choreographer Mathilde Monnier, Silence is a choreographed concert for nine performers. Music and dance engage in a dialogue centered on a shared obsession: rhythm, as a force for the transformation of the body and perception.

About
Shamanism has long permeated Lucie Antunes' work, serving as both an artistic and personal source of inspiration. With Silence, she draws on this influence to explore trance through the repetition of rhythm: a pulse that takes hold, transforms, and eventually commands full attention. In direct dialogue with the music, Mathilde Monnier plays with the swells and drops of rhythmic intensity to offer a different experience of time, oscillating between excessive slowness and frenetic agitation.
Created this summer during the 80th edition of the Avignon Festival, Silence follows in the footsteps of Lucie Antunes' work, supported for several years by the CENTQUATRE-PARIS, where she is an associate artist. For the past ten years, the musician has been staging shows in collaboration with choreographers and artists from various fields. This penchant for interdisciplinary exchanges is further solidified with Silence, her third album released on June 12, 2026.

Lucie Antunes, an artist in residence at Le CENTQUATRE-PARIS, presents her latest creation, Silence. Developed alongside choreographer Mathilde Monnier, the piece is deeply rooted in Antunes' interest in shamanic rhythms and their capacity to induce trance-like states. By manipulating rhythmic intensity, the performance challenges audience perception, alternating between periods of extreme deceleration and frenetic agitation.
