About
Ensemble Orbis presents O Canto Das Sementes on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Le Pavillon de la Sirène in the 14th arrondissement. This hour-long concert explores the interplay between classical compositions by Mozart, Boieldieu, and Saint-Saëns and the authentic Persian music of contemporary composer Golfam Khayam. Inspired by the legends of the Thousand and One Nights, the performance weaves together musical portraits of heroines from the Book of Kings. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, visually impaired or cognitively disabled guests, and features sign language interpretation. Tickets are priced between 5 and 12 euros.
Fascinated by the Orient - its tales, fragrances, and spells - composers have always created within this enchanting and powerful inspiration.
In 2025, Golfam Khayam, a young composer from Tehran, wrote "4 Chevelures persanes" for Le Concert impromptu, musical portraits of heroines from Ferdowsi's Book of Kings.
These 4 musical moments are set with gems by Mozart, Boieldieu, and Saint-Saëns.
The program is therefore understood as an epic narrative where Orientalism and authentic Persian music engage in dialogue: a tale without words calling upon the infinity of the Arabian Nights.
Our take on this event
On November 6, 2026, Le Pavillon de la Sirène hosts a special evening with Ensemble Orbis. From 20:00 to 21:00, the audience will embark on a sonic journey celebrating the allure of the East. The repertoire features the "4 Chevelures persanes" by Tehran-born composer Golfam Khayam, which depict musical portraits of heroines from Ferdowsi’s Book of Kings, balanced by selected gems from Mozart, Boieldieu, and Saint-Saëns.
