The Naguib Mahfouz library in the 20th arrondissement hosts French conversation workshops designed for language learners. Whether you are a beginner or at an intermediate level, these weekly sessions offer a supportive environment to practice speaking through discussions on current events and everyday topics. Guided by the library staff, these meetings aim to boost your fluency and confidence. The workshops are free of charge and the premises are fully wheelchair accessible and equipped to accommodate deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals. Join the group for these sessions open to anyone aged 18 and over.

Every Friday, the librarians invite you to speak French around a current event theme or daily life topic.

Beginner - intermediate levels

Fridays from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM (except school holidays).

Our take on this event

Located on rue des Couronnes, the Naguib Mahfouz library offers a series of French conversation workshops for adults aged 18 and up. These sessions are tailored for beginner to intermediate learners who wish to improve their conversational skills. The workshops focus on thematic discussions ranging from current news to daily life situations, all facilitated by the library staff in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The sessions are held on Fridays between October 16, 2026, and December 18, 2026. The standard time slot is from 15:00 to 16:30, with the exception of the session on November 27, 2026, which concludes at 15:30. Please be aware that workshops do not take place during school holidays.

Attendance is free. To ensure inclusivity, the venue is wheelchair accessible and adapted to accommodate deaf or hard-of-hearing participants.
