About

MAN OF MOON (10:00 PM)

(Alt rock - Cosmic Pool - Glasgow, UK)

Man of Moon is a Scottish duo forging a bold sound that crosses psychedelic rock, krautrock, electronica, and post-punk textures. Founded in Edinburgh in 2014 at Jewel and Esk College, the project was born out of late-night jam sessions between Chris Bainbridge (guitar/vocals) and his drummer at the time, before quickly taking on a new dimension. Chris stated that the name came to him in memory of his father: they had many conversations about space and the moon, and this imagery continues to resonate in the themes of their lyrics and the atmosphere of their music.

Over the years, the duo relocated to Glasgow and welcomed a new drummer, Iain Stewart, while continuing to deepen their sonic palette to venture into ethereal and hypnotic terrain. Since their debut, Man of Moon has established itself as an extraordinary live band. The duo has an uncanny talent for blending genres and styles, yet their sound is not a hybrid: it is a synthesis of their influences, a pure sonic distillation of what came before. You can hear the hypnotic drones of Mogwai, the dynamic shifts of Radiohead, the harmonic angularity of Tool, the industrial amalgam of Nine Inch Nails, and even hints of the austere and abstract lyricism of Pink Floyd.

Man of Moon is so much music in a single band. And yet, they have always had a sound of their own; there is a deep intentionality in the construction of every song.
