About
ELECTION, a sharp and jubilant political comedy where ambition, pretense, and the quest for power engage in a merciless battle. A funny and acerbic film that maliciously observes the underside of a meteoric rise. Nominated for an Academy Award in 2000 for Best Adapted Screenplay and a Golden Globe for Best Actress!
A few weeks before the U.S. midterm elections, as Donald Trump once again plays for his political future, Alexander Payne's film ELECTION resonates with almost unsettling topicality.
The screening will be introduced by Amy Greene, Associate Expert on the United States at the Institut Montaigne. She teaches at Sciences Po Paris, Boston University, and the University of California.
Before the screening, join us for a complimentary drink starting at 7:15 PM. You can participate in our raffle for a chance to win the book 'De la virilité en Amérique' (Ed. Tallendier) signed by the author.
Programmed by Ciné-club Van Papadopoulos.
