About
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Mairie de Paris Centre hosts a symposium titled Pour notre santé mentale, ouvrons-nous aux arts. Organized by the CMP Turbigo – Pôle Paris Centre during the SISM weeks, the event examines how artistic practices support mental well-being. Open to anyone 18 and older, this forum brings together healthcare professionals and cultural figures to discuss the therapeutic roles of music and literature. Attendance is free, though advance registration is required. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, as well as those who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired.
On the occasion of the Information Weeks on Mental Health (SISM), the CMP Turbigo – Paris Centre Hub is hosting a day dedicated to the connections between mental health and artistic practices, centered on the theme "For our mental health, let's open ourselves to the arts."
How can artistic practices find their place in mental health care and support? How do music and literature allow for a different approach to the experience of illness and psychological suffering?
The morning will begin with a presentation on artistic mediations and therapeutic practices, followed by a roundtable on music. Various experiences will be presented, notably a collaboration between the Paris Centre Hub and the Philharmonie de Paris. Members of INSAART (Institute for the Care and Support of Artists and Technicians) will also share their experience, particularly regarding their work at the Francofolies.
The afternoon will be dedicated to literature, with Agnès Clerc, René de Ceccatty, and Mathieu Simonet, on the theme "Writers facing illness."
A day to cross perspectives from care, culture, and artistic creation, and to open the dialogue about mental health.
