ECUJE hosts the 5th edition of the Prix René Urtreger on Monday, May 3, 2027, showcasing the future of French jazz. This competition invites the finest emerging bands to perform their work before a panel of distinguished professionals from institutions such as France Musique, Jazz Magazine, and Jazz News. It is a unique opportunity to witness the next generation of musical talent in a competitive live setting. The event is open to attendees aged 12 and over and takes place in Paris's 10th arrondissement. The concert runs from 20:00 to 23:30 at the ECUJE venue.

ECUJE is pleased to announce the 5th edition of the jazz ensemble competition as part of its "Jazz à l’ECUJE" season. This competition aims to reward the future of jazz in France by allowing the best ensembles to present their work in front of a jury of recognized professionals.

The jury consists of 6 permanent members, each with the same number of votes:

-Frédéric Charbaut – Jazz à Saint-Germain des Prés Festival
-Alex Dutilh – France Musique

-Lionel Eskenazi – Jazz Magazine

-Olivier Hutman – Musician, Jazz programmer at Ecuje
-Alice Leclercq – Jazz News and Club Jazz à FIP

– Marjolaine Portier-Kaltenbach – Club Jazz à FIP.

The Jazz à l’ECUJE season reaches its climax with the 2027 Prix René Urtreger final. Now in its fifth year, this competition serves as a vital showcase for up-and-coming jazz ensembles. Participating groups are given the stage to perform their original compositions, with the goal of impressing a panel of six experienced industry experts.

The jury features prominent figures from the jazz world, including Frédéric Charbaut from the Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés festival, Alex Dutilh from France Musique, Lionel Eskenazi from Jazz Magazine, and venue programmer Olivier Hutman. They are joined by Alice Leclercq and Marjolaine Portier-Kaltenbach from Club Jazz à FIP. Each member of this committee holds an equal vote, ensuring a balanced evaluation of the performances.
