Siège de la Cimade (Paris 11th)
About
On October 15, 2026, the Cimade headquarters in the 11th arrondissement hosts a special screening and discussion focusing on the relatives of incarcerated individuals. Part of the Parisian Week Against Discrimination, this event highlights the often-overlooked reality and struggles faced by families, partners, and friends of those in prison. Participants will explore personal accounts and discuss a manifesto advocating for the rights of these individuals. This event is entirely free to attend, wheelchair accessible, and requires advance registration to secure a spot.
Because prison does not stop at its walls, there are more than half a million parents, spouses, children, and friends in France who are affected by detention. Yet, their existence is ignored, their role denied, and their suffering made invisible. Through their stories and demands, the loved ones of incarcerated people also testify to a reality that is too often left in the shadows.
On the occasion of the Parisian Week against Discrimination organized by the City of Paris, the OIP-SF and the collective of loved ones of incarcerated people offer a meeting to show and hear the voices of those who live this reality, through a screening followed by a presentation of the manifesto for the recognition of the rights of loved ones of incarcerated people.

Our take on this event
Incarceration extends far beyond prison walls, affecting over half a million people in France, including parents, partners, children, and friends. Despite their significant numbers, their experiences are frequently ignored and their suffering remains invisible. Organized by the OIP-SF and the collective of relatives of incarcerated individuals, this gathering aims to bring these voices into the light, specifically during the Parisian Week Against Discrimination.
The event takes place from 19:00 to 21:00 at the Cimade offices, located at 91 rue Oberkampf. The schedule features a screening followed by a presentation of a manifesto dedicated to the recognition of the rights of those connected to the prison system. Attendees will gain insight into the claims and daily realities of these individuals. Admission is free of charge, but please note that registration is mandatory to participate.
