THE WANTS (10:30 PM)
(Electro rock - London, UK)
The Wants is a New York band founded in 2017 by composer, guitarist, and producer Madison Velding-VanDam, alongside drummer Jason Gates. The group functions as a network of contradictory ideas: musical writing rooted in reality that playfully collides with unstable rhythms, transformed electronic sounds, and live instruments.
After signing with London-based label Council Records, The Wants released their debut album, *Container* (2020), which takes its name from their shipping container turned rehearsal space in a Brooklyn parking lot. The album's anxious compositions, interlocking hypnotic rhythms, and energetic live shows were praised by media outlets such as NME, Brooklyn Vegan, and The Line of Best Fit before their tour was interrupted by the global lockdown in March 2020.
This interruption marked the beginning of a five-year period of experimentation. Written by Velding-VanDam, Gates, and synth player Yasmeen Night, and recorded by Peter Katis, *Bastard* (2025) pushes the tension between the physical and the electronic from *Container* toward something darker and more acerbic. Widely praised for its haunting and enigmatic character, the album was followed by remixes from Factory Floor, Broken English Club, and Gorgonn.
During this period, Velding-VanDam also founded STTT, a label dedicated to creative friction, experimentation, and independence. STTT supports a growing international catalog of artists, including Content Blocks and Sin Clair.
The Wants is currently finishing their third album.

OFF CENTER (9:30 PM)
(Post punk - Head Records - Montpellier, FR)
Permanent tensions and contrasting energies are found in a blend of melancholy and anger within Off Center.
Driven by vicious melodies, ambivalent emotions, and the raw honesty of 3 vocalists, the band is gradually establishing itself as one of the emerging projects of the new Montpellier scene, bringing together a young and committed community around its concerts.
Off Center is currently preparing the release of an EP titled "Métanoïa," scheduled for September 2026, which draws from bands like The Murder Capital, Lysistrata, and At the Drive-In.
