Tickets are required for this evening of virtuoso performances in the heart of Paris.
Conducted by Hervé Niquet, this concert celebrates a popular, festive, and musical Paris—the Paris of legendary variety shows and melodies that several generations have hummed. Leading the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, accompanied by the Concert Spirituel choir and clarinetist Florent Pujuila, he imagines a generous evening full of surprises, where musical excellence meets the spirit of celebration.
Bourvil, Charles Trenet, Maurice Chevalier, Francis Lopez: the great figures of chanson and operetta regain their vitality here in brilliant, colorful orchestrations. The program also visits the tender and whimsical world of 'The White Horse Inn' (L’Auberge du Cheval-Blanc), as well as a jubilant rarity: Darius Milhaud's 'Barba Garibo', a work inspired by the folklore of Menton, composed for choir and orchestra.
Through this eclectic and joyful program, Hervé Niquet also shares a personal vision: that of the Paris of the 1960s and 1970s, a theater open to all repertoires, where classical music, popular song, and entertainment interacted freely.
A lively, warm, and virtuosic evening, brought to life by artists who take as much pleasure in playing this music as the audience does in hearing it.
