About
Discover the benefits of cooperative care, or medical training, to improve your pet's well-being. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, head to the Maison de l'animal en ville - Jane Goodall to learn how to turn routine tasks like ear cleaning or nail trimming into stress-free interactions for your dog or cat. This practical workshop is open to all, featuring full accessibility for visitors with disabilities, and is offered free of charge as part of the Fête de l'animal en ville.
Cooperative care, also known as Medical Training, consists of teaching an animal to voluntarily collaborate in daily care and handling.
Originally developed for captive wildlife, this method is now used with dogs and cats to limit stress and strengthen the bond of trust between the animal and the human.
Trimming nails, cleaning ears, or examining a paw can thus become more serene moments, carried out with the consent and participation of the animal.
During this workshop, you will discover the main principles of cooperative care and learn simple exercises to replicate at home with your dog or cat.
The workshop is led by Mathilde Bécourt, a dog trainer and canine and feline behaviorist, and offered by the Institut Bonaparte, a training center for animal professions.
