About

With their artistic sensitivity, the Cie SZ takes us on a journey with our heads in the clouds, soaring to conquer the sky and bringing to life 4 poetic short films with universal appeal! Franck and Damien Litzler gently open up questions here about fundamental topics such as the respect and preservation of Mother Nature, as well as—to better understand her—concepts like the spirit of adventure, interaction with others, and encountering otherness.

The music is woven closely to the imagery, while leaving room for imagination and beautiful escapes.

Films:

AFTER THE RAIN

Students of MoPA school, France, 2018, 8’55

In green pastures, a dog lives happily alongside his master, an unusual old shepherd. He does not just shear his sheep's wool; he turns it into clouds to create rain, thus perpetuating the cycle of life. But if the shepherd were not eternal, what would happen to the valley? The young dog must show creativity and perseverance to avoid the worst…

LITTLE FLAME

Vladislav Bayramgulov, Russia, 2017, 8’09

It is winter. A little boy warms himself by the fire when a gust of icy wind blows out the embers! He goes out into the starry night in search of a little flame to light and warm his house.

Frightened by the dark sky and forest, he is rescued by an adventurous fox…

NIMBUS

Marco Nick, Brazil, 2016, 16’35

In a distant land, in the heart of a forest, lives Nimbus, a cloud hunter. By day, the little boy works hard to harvest them. By night, aboard a small boat, he gathers stars.

But how do you teach Nimbus that nature is not a treasure to be kept in a chest or in cages?

WAVES IN THE SKY

Gildardo Santoyo del Castillo, Mexico, 2005, 8’38

In the sky, birds fly like dancers, in unison. One of them struggles to perform its aerobatics. Fallen to the ground and rescued by a music-loving little turtle, it discovers the joy of dance with her! Will it ever want to fly with its own kind again?
