Artist Seed Halloween: Collaborative Haunted Castle

Forget the usual costumes and let the kids build their own spooky fortress from scratch. It is a fantastic collaborative project where recycled materials turn into secret passageways and bat-filled towers for a truly unique Halloween experience.

Bibliothèque Maurice Genevoix (Paris 18th)

About

The Maurice Genevoix Library hosts a collaborative workshop for children aged 7 and up to build a spooky haunted castle using recycled materials on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. From 16:00 to 17:00, participants will craft mysterious towers, secret doors, and eerie creatures to assemble a unique, collective masterpiece. This creative session promotes recycling and teamwork while celebrating the Halloween spirit. The event is free of charge and fully accessible to wheelchair users and children with cognitive disabilities. It is a fantastic opportunity for young creators to express their artistic talents while working together on a larger project in the heart of the 18th arrondissement.

Using cardboard rolls and recycled materials, children will imagine together a large haunted castle populated with fantastic creatures.

Towers, mysterious windows, secret doors, mischievous ghosts, or nocturnal bats: everyone will be able to add their personal touch to this collective creation inspired by the world of Halloween.

Throughout the workshop, the various creations will be assembled to give life to a unique manor, built by all the participants.

This workshop raises awareness about reusing materials while encouraging creativity, cooperation, and artistic expression. By creating a collective work, children also discover the pleasure of building a project together that is larger than their individual creations.

Our take on this event

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00, the Maurice Genevoix Library invites children aged 7 and older to participate in a creative Halloween-themed workshop. Using cardboard rolls and reclaimed materials, attendees will design individual components like haunted towers, hidden windows, and fantastic creatures. These pieces will then be combined to construct a singular, collaborative haunted mansion.

This session aims to foster creativity and cooperation, highlighting the benefits of reusing materials to create something significant. Participation is free, but booking is required through the library staff either on-site or via their standard contact channels.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and the activity is designed to be inclusive for children with cognitive disabilities. Participants are encouraged to bring their unique perspective to this collaborative building experience.
