Training "Better orienting towards the Parisian social offer: my role as a volunteer"

Navigating the maze of social resources in Paris can be tricky even for the most seasoned volunteers. Join this dedicated session to sharpen your advocacy skills and gain a clearer understanding of how to connect people with the right support systems.

Paris 7th

About

On December 8, 2026, the Maison de la Vie Associative et Citoyenne of the 7th arrondissement hosts a training session for volunteers involved in social outreach. Organized by the City of Paris Department of Solidarity, this free workshop provides essential tools for navigating the city's social services and clarifies your role as a volunteer when directing individuals to appropriate support. The venue is fully accessible to people with cognitive, visual, hearing, or motor disabilities, ensuring that all volunteers can attend comfortably to enhance their field missions.

This training, built and facilitated by agents from the Department of Solidarity of the City of Paris, offers you the opportunity to:

  • guide and equip you for your missions in the field;
  • share essential information about social action mechanisms in Paris that you can pass on to the people you support;
  • clarify your role as a volunteer in this initial orientation mission, alongside professionals.

And of course, answer all your questions!

This training is adapted for volunteers already engaged in solidarity missions. If you are not yet a volunteer and would like to get started, we recommend that you first sign up for a session of "The ABCs of the fight against exclusion" (training calendar).

Our take on this event

This training takes place on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, from 18:30 to 20:30 at 4 rue Amélie, 75007 Paris. The session is designed for individuals currently active in solidarity-based roles. Those new to volunteering are encouraged to register for the "BA-Ba de la lutte contre l'exclusion" program instead.

Guided by officials from the City of Paris Department of Solidarity, the program covers the fundamental social support systems available in Paris. Participants will gain practical knowledge on how to effectively share these resources with those in need and define their specific responsibilities as volunteers working alongside professionals. The session also includes a dedicated Q&A period.

The workshop is free of charge, though registration via the provided form is mandatory. The facility is equipped to accommodate attendees who are wheelchair users, deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, or individuals with cognitive disabilities.
