Learn more about the film:

  • The project was born from the many times Venezuelan directors Juan Sebastián Vásquez and Alejandro Rojas traveled to the United States, as well as from the testimonies of their families and friends.
  • At first, Juan Sebastián Vásquez and Alejandro Rojas simply wanted to share a personal experience: "The film is political because the mere act of choosing to tell this story makes it so. It talks about power dynamics, harassment, authority issues, places where you can suddenly feel extremely vulnerable depending on your background, and the distrust that some feel toward you because of those same origins."
  • The filmmakers chose to set the narrative during Donald Trump's presidency, a period during which the construction of a wall separating Mexico from the United States began.
  • The film has won several international awards: Grand Prix and Best Acting Award for Bruna Cusi at the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers, Audience Award & Police Award at the Reims Polar festival. It also won several awards at the CinéHorizontes festival: Golden Horizon Award for Best Film, Belle Jeunesse Lycéens Notre Dame de Sion Award, Best Actress Award for Bruna Cusi, Best Actor Award for Alberto Ammann, Best Screenplay Award for Alejandro Rojas & Juan Sebastian Vasquez
