The Mushroom Omelet
Forget boring dinner parties, this biting satire gleefully shreds the hypocrisy of today's social elite. Head to the 11th arrondissement for a chaotic theatrical ride where a single ill-fated meal dismantles every carefully constructed persona at the table.
La Maison des Métallos (Paris 11th)
About
From June 10 to June 19, 2027, the Maison des Métallos hosts L’Omelette aux champignons, a biting farce directed by Claire Lapeyre-Mazérat and Mélanie Martinez-Llense. This production, which is wheelchair accessible and features specific adaptations for blind or visually impaired guests, follows a high-stakes dinner where ideological masks and social power dynamics crumble. Recommended for audiences aged 14 and up, the play delivers a sharp, humorous take on contemporary progressive circles caught between their personal ambitions and stated values. Set in the 11th arrondissement, it offers a witty and critical reflection on our modern world.
At the helm of Moulisex, a leader in hand-molded latex sex toys: Mélanie, an ambitious CEO, and her partner Claire, a left-wing heiress in charge of the "wellness and care" department. The couple invites a lobbyist-startupper who holds a patent for an organic sex toy and his senator wife – a bit conservative – to a dinner that will prove decisive for the future of the declining company. But the omelet served that evening, a little too special, will end up blowing away the masks, the couples, the progressive certainties, and the power dynamics.
With this hallucinated farce, inspired by the famous play Potiche, Claire Lapeyre-Mazérat and Mélanie Martinez-Llense draw a portrait as funny as it is lucid of a well-meaning woke petite bourgeoisie, caught in a vice between its ambitions and its contradictions. Between Judith Butler and Les Bronzés, this creation promises a jubilant reflection on our era.
The Mushroom Omelet is served. Bon appétit!

Surveying of "T’es sérieuse?" by Laélia Véron and Guillaume Fondu (WED. JUNE 16, 2027|6:30 PM—9:30 PM)In partnership with Peuple & Culture

La Maison des Métallos, in partnership with Peuple & Culture, invites you to a surveying workshop around the book T’es sérieuse? Problèmes politiques de l'ironie by Laélia Véron and Guillaume Fondu, published in early 2026 by La Découverte.
Irony is praised everywhere. It can make people laugh and think at the same time. By playing on effects of mention and echo, it allows, for example, for the critical reconsideration of dominant discourses.
But to what extent is this critical discourse political? Does it allow for the strengthening of a political community or rather the maintenance of certain prejudices in the comfort of one's own circle? Is it an instrument of emancipation capable of overturning hierarchies or the expression of a privilege (gendered, educated, etc.)?
Admittedly, irony challenges our tendency to adhere thoughtlessly to fashionable discourses. But it is also a form of avoidance, which is reluctant to set a content, refuses to take a side, and makes a risky bet: repeating a target discourse to ridicule it, at the risk, however, of normalizing it.
Far from easy distinctions between "good" and "bad" irony (which actually amounts to distinguishing the irony we like from the irony we don't like), this book, by analyzing numerous controversial examples, investigates the political ambiguities of irony in the contemporary world.
Surveying is a method of discovering a book together. It is recommended not to read the book beforehand! The Métallos team will bring a copy, cool drinks, and sweets, for a convivial moment of sharing.
Take a moment for yourself before the show, a transition time between your daily life and the theater. Accompanied by Marine Désessard, share a few movements, breaths, words, or complicit glances to let go and better welcome the show.
