Our take on this event
Step back into the charm of bygone centuries with these spirited costume balls that bring historic steps to life. Whether you are a fan of ballroom dance or simply looking for an elegant evening filled with tradition, this is your chance to dance among the echoes of the Victorian era.
The Hôtel de la Marine hosts a series of costumed balls from late October to mid-December 2026. Tailored specifically for guests aged 35 and over, these events offer an opportunity to enjoy historical dances, ranging from quadrilles and polkas to animal dances from the 1900s. You are welcome to attend with or without a period costume to share a drink and conversation in a prestigious setting. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, ensuring everyone can enjoy the atmosphere. Please note that booking is mandatory for all attendees to secure a place at these exclusive gatherings held in the heart of Paris.
The seasonal schedule includes three distinct dates: October 30 for the 'Revenants' theme, November 27 honoring Charles Dickens, and December 18 focused on Second Empire dance styles. Sessions run from 17:30 to 20:30, with an exception on November 27 from 15:00 to 18:30. The event combines participatory dancing in the main courtyard with a guided exploration of the monument’s ceremonial rooms. While a cloakroom is available, please remember that costume rentals are not provided on-site.
Booking is essential to obtain the meeting point details for the two available packages. The visit to the ceremonial salons is included with your monument admission. Once the dancing concludes, participants are invited to join an informal dinner at a nearby brasserie to continue the evening. Ensure you reserve in advance to guarantee your participation in these historic celebrations.
