Les Femmes S’en Mêlent Festival
Forget the usual festival headliners and discover the artists who are actually shaping the future of sound. This celebration of female and LGBTQIA+ creativity transforms the city into a stage where bold, authentic music takes center stage.
About
The Les Femmes S’en Mêlent festival returns from Friday, October 30, 2026, to Sunday, November 29, 2026, to champion female musical creativity. As a pioneer in promoting women on the international stage, the event addresses the historic underrepresentation of female artists while supporting their career development. The festival also features the Les Femmes S’engagent initiative, which includes workshops, conferences, and debates regarding the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists within contemporary music. Attendance is strictly for those aged 18 and over, and all events require a paid ticket.
The Les Femmes s’en Mêlent festival was created in Paris on March 8, 1997. Long before debates about gender parity, Les Femmes s’en Mêlent (LFSM) was, from the beginning, a response to the underrepresentation of women in most (mainly summer) festivals, thus becoming the first international event championing musical creation by female artists.
Building on its history, Les Femmes s’en Mêlent (LFSM) aims to continue offering programming alternatives by defending artists in their career development, through concerts throughout France, while promoting gender equality and the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists in contemporary music with its new action initiative (workshops, conferences, meetings, screenings, and debates): Les Femmes S’engagent.
Our take on this event
Established in 1997, Les Femmes S’en Mêlent continues its mission to provide a platform for women in the music industry. Originally created to counter the lack of female representation in major festivals, the event has grown into an international movement dedicated to promoting parity and supporting the professional growth of female musicians across France.
Running from October 30, 2026, to November 29, 2026, this year's edition expands its reach through the Les Femmes S’engagent initiative. Beyond live music, attendees can engage with a series of workshops, screenings, conferences, and debates. These sessions focus on advancing gender equality and increasing the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists in today's music scene.
Please note that this festival is open only to individuals aged 18 and older. As a ticketed event, entrance is subject to payment. By combining high-quality musical programming with active advocacy, Les Femmes S’en Mêlent remains a vital space for both performance and social reflection.
