Summer swimming in the Seine: Grenelle arm
The swimming area was expanded in 2026 with the removal of the paddling pool. To access the site, it is essential to know how to swim and be at least 1.20 m tall. Any minor under the age of 14 must also be accompanied by an adult. The Grenelle site (15th arrondissement), now the size of an Olympic pool, can accommodate a maximum of 200 people, including 150 in the swimming area.
What you need to know
Access to the swimming site is free. Exit from the water is 30 minutes before the site closes. To find out if the swimming area is open or closed, check our map.
Wearing a buoy is mandatory; it is provided on loan and must be returned in good condition. Entry into the water is supervised by rescue and monitoring personnel to ensure these two conditions are met. There are at least four lifeguards. Changing rooms are available, as well as secure lockers, showers – which are mandatory before entering the water – access to toilets, a first aid station, and spaces to sit and enjoy the sun.
The Grenelle arm site is open every day, provided that safety conditions are met: moderate current, water quality analyzed daily by the City, and favorable weather. In the event of exceptional closure of the sites, visitors are informed by going directly to the site or on the dedicated page on the City of Paris website.
