Summer swimming in the Seine: Quai de Bercy
What you need to know
Access to the swimming area is free. You must exit the water 30 minutes before the site closes.

The swimming site is located opposite the National Library of France (13th arrondissement), on both sides of the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge, just below the Parc de Bercy (12th arrondissement). There are two swimming areas there – 35m x 12.5m and 67m x 11m – delimited by side protection. A large space is set up on the quay inside containers, with a beach (solarium) to relax after your swim.
To access the site, it is essential that you know how to swim and are at least 1.20m tall. Any minor under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No more than three minors under 14 per adult. Bercy is the largest swimming site in the Seine and can accommodate 600 people. Wearing a buoy is mandatory; these are provided on loan and must be returned in good condition. Entry into the water is supervised by rescue and monitoring staff to verify these two conditions. There will be at least five lifeguards.
Changing rooms are available, as well as secure lockers, showers – mandatory before going for a swim –, access to toilets, a first-aid station, and spaces to sit and enjoy the sun.
The Bercy site is open every day, provided that safety conditions are met: moderate current, water quality analyzed daily by the City, and mild weather. In case of exceptional closure of the sites, visitors are informed by going directly to the site or by visiting the dedicated page on the City of Paris website.
Only the solarium is accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM).
